Crackurz
first appeared in December 2000 in the self-published Crackurz #1, then
went on to show up up in different incarnations, in mini comics, online,
over the next couple of years. The book, while under the radar, was
met with wonderful fan and critical success. Some very respectable companies
almost took a bite at publishing, and a few had some very nice things
to say, but in the end, it would stay at Candida Press.
Crackurz is about two birds, Remster and Loagster, who hate each other, and about the adventures they fall into despite living in a cage. Remster is the loud-mouthed, paranoid, but ultimately good-hearted bafoon of the two, while Loagster is the smart, dry, sarcastic brain who some might say just wants to be left alone, though will antagonize his counterpart when provoked. The humor is edgy, wit driven and, at times, drop-down funny. The
best way to describe it is an odd couple on crack taking some cynical
